MEGAN HART
Megan has been an integral part of the insurance industry since 1993. She has extensive experience within human resources, regulatory and legal matters. Megan was responsible for the executive claims management teams within the Admiral Group nationally. Megan handled all the Human Resources aspects of the merger between Stalker Hutchison and Associates ( Pty) Ltd and Admiral Professional Underwriting Agency ( Pty ) Ltd, involving 160 staff. Megan is currently the head of Claims and Human Resources at Aquarius Underwriting Managers.
RAKS MAHARAJ
Raks started his insurance career in 1972 with the Commercial Union in Pietermaritzburg as an Underwriting Clerk. He worked in various supervisory positions before being promoted to Assistant Underwriting Manager in 1986 and then to Underwriting Manager in 1988. He was responsible for Commercial and Personal Lines portfolios with a total income of R75 million and had 10 staff members under his control. In 1997 he was promoted to Underwriting Manager in Randburg responsible for Commercial and Personal Lines portfolios with an income of R175 million and 25 staff members under his control. In 1999 he was promoted to Commercial Lines Head Office Manager responsible for 9 branches including Malawi and Zimbabwe. In 2000 he opted for voluntary retrenchment when the Mutual and Federal bought CGU. Since 2000 he worked for a broker for 2 years to gain broking experience and then worked for 2 underwriting agencies. He is currently Chief Underwriting Officer at Aquarius Underwriting Managers.
LAURA GREER
Laura began her career in Northern Ireland with Guardian Royal Exchange in 1983. She moved to SA in 1993 and joined Commercial Union which became CGU in 1998 with the merge of General Accident. At this stage Laura was in charge of Business Development for the Pretoria and Northern regions. The company then merged with Mutual & Federal in 2000, where Laura held the position of Business Development and Sales Manager for the next 11 years. She joined Aquarius on 1st June 2011 as Marketing Manager.
SANDRA BOY
Born in New Zealand, Sandra started her insurance career in the UK with the Sun Alliance and London Group. In 1974 she moved to South Africa and joined Protea in Johannesburg. In 1984 she relocated to Durban and joined the A.A. Mutual. Over the next 18 years with the various mergers, take-overs, re-engineering strategies and company withdrawals reducing the employment pool, she had to adapt and broaden her skills base. This meant working not only for Insurance Companies but for Reinsurers and Underwriting Managers as well. Sandra continues to operate from the coast and is responsible for the marketing and sales in her beloved KZN region.
